Communication to a Sleeping Giant

Your brain is like a sleeping giant

Tony Buzan, the mind mapping expert says that humans only use their brains no more than 10% of their total capabilities, the rest is sleeping unutilized.

The question is how to wake up the human brain that is mostly asleep?

The way is to wake up the human brain by touch and influence the emotional side.

Robert McKee, a professor and film scriptwriter, says there are two ways to influence others: first, provide analytical data and second, provide the story.

Humans are basically emotional creatures, it is very easy for their emotions to be affected, especially with stories. The right story will have a “sticky effect” and “contagious”, easy to remember and easy to spread (Heath & Heath, 2007) in Planet OMNI, Hermawan Kartajaya.

Stories are also important in leadership. This side of the story is used by Ren Zhengfei, President of Huawei Technologies in telling his dream about Huawei. He regularly tells his dream that one day Huawei will control one third of the world market share.

In the early days, Zhengfei’s stories were dismissed as those of a madman. However, the story was always told regularly. Eventually, Huawei became one of the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturers in the world.

In the age of exponentially growing information, our audience/consumers and more importantly our team are easily distracted. Information in the form of data and facts come and go. For this reason, the emotional side through touching stories will touch the heart and reach the unconscious.
